Cultural Centre TOBAČNA 001, Ljubljana
Opening of the exhibition will be on Friday, 27 October at 7 p.m.

The exhibition Fluid Particles of Volcanic Ash is part of a multiannual project in which Marko Batista prompts the viewer to reflect on the problem of modern post-fact society in relation to technological progress. Technological systems are not perfect, predictable, self-contained and complete, but rather unstable, and it is precisely this point that serves as the premise of Batista’s exploration.

The intermedia project entitled Locus:303 originates from the installation Electronic Church by Marko Batista and Srdjan Deba (production Aksioma 2014, coproduction Forum Ljubljana) from 2014. It is an electroacoustic light sculpture that intervenes in the medieval architecture of the space.

The installation is a part of the ‘Art in Public Space’ event with the aim “… to emphasize the signifcance of contemporary art and to show its importance in public. The desire is to establish an equal partnership with urban planners and architects, as well as other creators of the public sphere. It is about connecting the elements between disciplines, between theoretical standpoints and practical use, between academic concepts and actual efectiveness” says curator Matena Bassin.
